Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Gati Moving. By accessing our website or using our relocation, logistics, and moving services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Services Offered
Gati Moving provides professional packing, loading, unloading, transportation (local, domestic, intercity), vehicle shifting, warehousing, storage, and related relocation services. Any additional services not listed on our official website or booking form require separate written agreement.
2. Booking and Quotations
- All quotations provided are based on information given by you (inventory, distance, access conditions). Any change in scope may alter the final price.
- Quotations are valid for 15 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
- A confirmed booking requires either an advance payment (as communicated) or a signed estimate. Subject to availability of resources.
- We reserve the right to decline any booking if unrealistic expectations or safety risks are identified.
3. Payments, Fees & Cancellation
- Payment terms: Full payment is due on or before delivery day, unless a different schedule is mentioned in the estimate. Advance (booking deposit) is non-refundable under cancellation policy.
- Additional charges: Stairs, long carry, waiting time beyond agreed window, parking fees, or tolls may be charged extra and will be communicated before billing.
- Cancellation by customer: If cancelled 7+ days prior to move date: 75% of advance refunded. 3-6 days: 50% refund. Less than 72 hours: no refund of advance. Full payment prior to move date will be refunded as per same schedule excluding service fee.
- Cancellation by Gati Moving: In rare cases (vehicle breakdown, natural calamity, or safety concerns), we refund 100% of any amount collected, and no further liability arises.
4. Packing & Material Responsibility
Our team uses high-quality packing materials (bubble wrap, corrugated boxes, stretch films). However, certain items (cash, jewellery, important documents, perishables, hazardous goods) must NOT be handed over for packing unless explicitly declared. We are not liable for loss/damage to prohibited items that were not disclosed. Customer is encouraged to pack valuables separately or opt for declared-value insurance.
5. Transit, Delivery & Liability
- Gati Moving strives to meet delivery timelines; however, delays due to weather, traffic, legal issues, or force majeure are not subject to penalty or compensation.
- Liability for loss or damage: Subject to the insurance coverage purchased (transit insurance is optional but recommended). In absence of insurance, our maximum liability is limited to the value of service fee paid, or ₹2,500 per affected item (whichever is lower).
- You must inspect all goods at the time of unloading. Any damage or shortage must be noted on the delivery receipt before signing, and communicated within 24 hours in writing. Claims after that period will not be entertained.
- Electronic items, glass, and fragile articles are packed with extra care but inherent risk remains. Our liability for pre-existing defect or internal damage is void.
📦 Important: We strongly recommend purchasing transit insurance (available at nominal premium). Without insurance, Gati Moving’s total liability for any claim shall never exceed 50% of the total move cost or ₹5,000 per claim – whichever is lower, except in cases of gross negligence proven by law.
6. Customer’s Responsibilities
- Provide clear access, parking, and lift/elevator availability at both origin and destination.
- Disconnect appliances (refrigerator, AC, washing machine) prior to loading. Ensure no hazardous/flammable/illegal items are packed.
- Have a representative present during loading and unloading to supervise and acknowledge condition of goods.
- Obtain necessary permissions (society, building, municipal) for moving in/out, if required.
7. Prohibited Items
We do not transport: cash, jewellery, bullion, antiques above ₹25,000, narcotics, firearms, explosives, perishable food, live plants/animals, and dangerous chemicals. If any prohibited item is discovered, the move may be terminated with forfeiture of payment, and the customer will be solely responsible for legal consequences.
8. Storage & Warehousing
If you choose our storage services, storage fees apply as per agreement. Gati Moving ensures 24/7 surveillance, climate-controlled (upon request) and insurance options for stored goods. Minimum storage period is 15 days. Cancellation of storage requires 7 days’ written notice. Goods left unclaimed more than 90 days after agreed storage period and after repeated notices may be disposed of to recover dues.
9. Force Majeure
Neither party shall be liable for failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, riots, strikes, accidents, roadblocks, or vehicle breakdowns. In such events, we will reschedule the move at no extra cost but no financial compensation applies.
10. Insurance and Claims Process
If you opt for transit insurance (provided through partner insurers), claim settlement is subject to insurer’s terms and surveyor report. Gati Moving will assist in documentation but is not the insurer. For self-insured moves, claims for loss/damage must be filed within 7 days with supporting photos and original invoices; our liability will be limited as per clause 5.
11. Website Use & Intellectual Property
All content, logos, graphics, and text on our website are owned by Gati Moving. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute without permission. Any misuse may lead to legal action.
12. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of our services or these terms shall be subject to exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Gurugram, Haryana. Before litigation, both parties agree to attempt amicable resolution through written notice and a 30-day negotiation period.
13. Amendments to Terms
Gati Moving reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. The latest version will be displayed on our website with the effective date. Continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance.
